MORGAN TAYLOR FROM CWMBRAN SENTENCED FOR CHILD ABUSE IMAGE AND CHICKEN SEX VIDEO OFFENSES
In a case that has shocked the local community of Cwmbran, Morgan Taylor, a 22-year-old resident of Broome Path, St Dials, was found guilty of possessing illegal and disturbing content on his mobile device. The offences, which took place on March 22, 2021, involved the possession of a category B indecent image of a child, as well as an extreme form of pornography depicting a person sexually abusing a chicken.Details of the case emerged during a hearing at Newport Magistrates’ Court, where it was revealed that Taylor’s phone contained both types of illicit material. The court was informed that the first offence involved the possession of a child abuse image, a serious violation that highlights the ongoing issues of child exploitation and the importance of law enforcement vigilance.
The second offence was even more disturbing, involving extreme pornography that depicted animal abuse, specifically a person engaging in sexual acts with a chicken. Such content is classified as extreme and is considered a grave violation of animal rights and moral standards.
Following the guilty plea, Taylor was sentenced to a three-year community order. As part of his rehabilitation, he is required to attend 26 sessions of the iHorizon sex offender programme, which aims to address underlying issues and prevent future offending. Additionally, he must complete a 30-day rehabilitation activity requirement, designed to support his reintegration into society.
Furthermore, Taylor is mandated to register as a sex offender for a period of five years. The court also imposed a sexual harm prevention order, which will remain in effect until 2027, restricting his activities and monitoring his compliance with legal standards. In addition to these measures, Taylor was ordered to pay £180 in court costs and a surcharge.
In a move to prevent further misuse of evidence, the court ordered the forfeiture and destruction of Taylor’s mobile phone, ensuring that the illegal content cannot be accessed or circulated again. This case underscores the ongoing efforts of law enforcement and judicial authorities to combat the possession and distribution of harmful and illegal material, especially involving minors and animal abuse.
