A man has been formally charged and named following a sexual assault on a teenage girl in St Annes.
The incident occurred on St Leonard’s Road West, between the intersections with St Andrew’s Road North and St David’s Road North, on Monday, August 26.
The young girl reported that she was approached by a man and was touched inappropriately just before 4pm.
She is currently receiving assistance from law enforcement officials.
Following investigations, a man was detained by police.
Subsequently, Mohammed Uddin, aged 53, residing at Lodore Place in Bradford, was charged with sexual assault and violating a sexual offences prevention order.
Uddin appeared before Lancaster Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday and has been granted bail to attend Preston Crown Court on September 25.
