MOHAMMED SODAIS FROM ROCHDALE JAILED FOR SEXUAL OFFENSES AGAINST CHILDREN

In a disturbing case that has shocked the Rochdale community, Mohammed Sodais, born on April 18, 1997, and residing on Howarth Cross Street in Rochdale, has been sentenced to serve time in a young offenders institution after being found guilty of multiple serious sexual offenses involving minors.

Following a thorough investigation and trial at Minshull Street Crown Court, Sodais was convicted on two counts of engaging in sexual activity with a child.

The court also found him guilty of five counts of attempting to meet a child under the age of 16 with the intent to commit sexual acts, as well as two counts of inciting a child to engage in sexual activity.

The severity of his crimes led to a significant sentencing, reflecting the gravity of his actions.

He was sentenced to eight and a half years in a young offenders institution, a measure intended to both punish and rehabilitate.

Additionally, the court imposed a twelve-year sexual harm prevention order, which restricts his contact with minors and monitors his activities to prevent further offenses.

Sodais was also ordered to sign the sex offenders register indefinitely, ensuring ongoing oversight of his conduct.

The criminal case revealed that Sodais’s offending began in April 2015, when he arranged to meet a 14-year-old girl he knew through a mutual acquaintance.

The two met in Rochdale and subsequently went to a field, where Sodais committed a sexual assault against her.

This incident marked the start of a series of predatory behaviors.

Later that same year, in July, Sodais targeted a different 14-year-old girl at a bus station in Middleton.

She was accompanied by friends at the time.

Sodais initiated contact with her through online messaging, and during their digital exchanges, he arranged to meet her again at Rochdale bus station.

The two then went for a walk in the nearby area, where Sodais once again sexually assaulted her.

The investigation into Sodais’s activities uncovered further disturbing details.

Authorities seized his mobile phone, which revealed that he had been grooming three girls, all aged between 13 and 14, through online communication.

This pattern of grooming and exploitation demonstrated a calculated effort to manipulate and abuse vulnerable minors.

Detective Constable Ben Harris of the Rochdale Sunrise team commented on the case, stating, “Mohammed Sodais is a serial groomer who contacted numerous girls in attempts to persuade them to meet up with him to satisfy his own sickening urges.

As well as the online abuse he subjected the girls to, he took advantage and physically abused two of them who had trusted him enough to meet up.” The case serves as a stark reminder of the dangers posed by online predators and the importance of vigilance in protecting young people from exploitation and harm.
