A 29-year-old man from Watford has been sentenced to more than 11 years in prison after being convicted of multiple sexual offences against children.Mohammed Sahinur, who was detained in June 2022, targeted young girls as young as 11 starting from 2021. He encouraged them to send sexual images of themselves and threatened to disclose or share these images if they refused.He faced 15 charges, including the rape of a child under 13.On Friday, November 3, Sahinur appeared at St Albans Crown Court for sentencing and received an 11-year and six-month custodial sentence.Detective Sergeant Jim Miller from the Child Online Safeguarding Team described Sahinur's misconduct: “Not only did Sahinur groom vulnerable young girls via social media, but he also met one victim in person to physically abuse her. To ensure continued compliance, he threatened the girls by warning he would tell family members or share the images further.”He emphasized law enforcement’s commitment: “We will continue to track down perpetrators like Sahinur and encourage anyone who has been affected by similar behavior to contact us.”
