RAPIST WHO TOLD VICTIM SHE WOULD DIE JAILED INDEFINITELY
A former university student responsible for subjecting a young sex worker to a horrifying rape ordeal has been ordered to be held indefinitely for public protection.Mohammed Khan, who was enrolled at Greenwich University’s Chatham Campus, is set to be detained for nearly six years before his case will be reviewed by the parole authorities.
Judge Michael Lawson, QC, commented that if a fixed prison sentence had been applied, it would amount to 13 and a half years.
The victim expressed her dissatisfaction, stating, “It’s not enough – he should have received a life sentence.
He’ll be in prison and won’t have to worry about it.
I have to live with this for the rest of my life.” Twenty-one-year-old Khan, formerly living on Ordnance Street in Chatham, was found guilty in November of three counts of rape.
During the assault, he ordered his victim to be silent, claimed to have murdered 20 people that evening, and threatened to make her the 21st if she did not comply.
Investigations revealed that he had previously searched online for call girls and escort agencies.
The attack happened on April 1 last year when the victim was on her way to meet a client in a Rochester park; Khan grabbed her, dragged her toward tennis courts, and muffled her screams.
Despite her protests and cries upon noticing other park users, he disregarded her and raped her multiple times, then forced her to perform oral sex, all in an attempt to avoid DNA evidence.
Following the assault, she contacted a friend to report the incident and identified Khan during a police line-up.
