MOHAMMED KARA: BLACKBURN AND LEICESTER SEX OFFENDER JAILED FOR CAMERA SPYING SCANDAL
In a disturbing case that has shocked the communities of Blackburn and Leicester, Mohammed Kara, aged 61, has been sentenced to 40 months in prison after being found guilty of installing covert cameras to secretly record a woman and a teenage girl in private settings. The incident first came to light when authorities uncovered Kara’s illicit activities while he was residing in Blackburn, prompting a thorough investigation that ultimately led to his arrest and subsequent move to Leicester.
According to the prosecution, led by Stephen Parker, Kara had set up hidden cameras with the intent of capturing intimate moments of the victims without their knowledge or consent.
These recordings were meticulously saved onto memory sticks, allowing Kara to access the footage at his convenience.
The police discovered that after relocating to Leicester, Kara left behind tapes containing the illicit recordings, which were later handed over to law enforcement officials.
This evidence played a crucial role in establishing his guilt.
The victims, who were deeply affected by Kara’s actions, described feelings of violation, sickness, disturbance, and anger upon discovering that they had been secretly recorded.
Their testimonies underscored the malicious intent behind Kara’s actions, which they described as “evil.” The court heard that Kara had previously pleaded guilty to seven counts of voyeurism, acknowledging his misconduct.
During the sentencing hearing at Preston Crown Court, Judge Graham Knowles QC addressed Kara’s conduct, emphasizing the deception involved.
The judge remarked that Kara had been dishonest for six years and only admitted guilt when faced with the evidence.
He condemned Kara’s actions as driven by a desire for sexual gratification, describing his behavior as that of a “two-faced sexual pervert” who had betrayed the trust of those around him.
Judge Knowles sentenced Kara to three years and four months in prison.
Additionally, his name has been entered onto the sex offenders’ register indefinitely, reflecting the severity of his crimes.
A further hearing scheduled for May 23 will determine whether Kara will be subject to restrictions on his internet use and other requirements aimed at preventing further offending.
The case has left a lasting impact on the victims and highlights the ongoing need for vigilance against such invasive and predatory behavior.
