MIRZA BAIG AND MOHAMMED DITTA FROM MANCHESTER SENTENCED FOR HORRIFIC SEX ATTACKS ON TEENAGE GIRLS
In a disturbing case that has shocked the community in Manchester, two men, Mirza Baig and Mohammed Ditta, were sentenced to lengthy prison terms following their involvement in a series of heinous sexual assaults targeting vulnerable teenage girls. The incidents, which took place in the Manchester area, specifically in the neighborhoods of Hulme, Longsight, and Levenshulme, revealed a pattern of predatory behavior fueled by drugs and manipulation.
According to court reports, Mirza Baig, aged 35 and residing on Longdon Road in Longsight, served a three-year prison sentence before being deported.
His accomplice, Mohammed Ditta, aged 39 from Newdale Road in Levenshulme, had previously served twelve years in prison and was released in March 2019 to a hostel, after which he was subject to ongoing legal proceedings.
The court heard that both men targeted teenage girls, some as young as 15, by luring them with offers of alcohol and cigarettes.
The victims, described as vulnerable teenagers, were enticed back to Ditta’s flat in Hulme, where the true nature of the men’s intentions became horrifyingly clear.
Once inside, the girls were given vodka, Ecstasy pills, and cocaine, which rendered them unconscious.
It was during this state of intoxication that the men committed their crimes, stripping the girls naked, placing them in beds, and attempting to force sexual acts upon them.
The sentencing followed a detailed investigation involving Manchester Children’s Services, Greater Manchester Police detectives, and voluntary sector project workers.
The first incident was reported on April 18, 2007, when Baig met two 15-year-old girls and drove them to Ditta’s flat.
Inside, Ditta offered the girls drinks and drugs.
One girl was offered £20 by Ditta to have sex with him, but she refused, prompting him to punch her twice in the face.
Further incidents occurred on April 30, 2007, involving a third 15-year-old girl who visited the same flat with a friend.
Both men again provided her with alcohol and drugs.
While she was heavily intoxicated, Baig sexually assaulted her, and Ditta also committed sexual assault.
During the attack, Ditta threatened her with a gun and ordered her to have sex, causing her to fear for her life.
She managed to escape after Ditta’s assault.
In court, Ditta was convicted of assault and sexual assault after a three-week trial, with evidence revealing his violent threats and sexual misconduct.
Baig was convicted of sexual assault and threats to kill, with testimonies describing his use of derogatory language and threats of violence to coerce the victims.
Judge Anthony Gee sentenced both men to an indefinite period in prison, citing the need to protect the public from their dangerous behavior.
He emphasized the gravity of their crimes, describing them as “despicable and truly shameful,” and stated that each must serve a minimum of three years before being eligible for parole.
Both men are married and have young children, adding a tragic dimension to the case and raising questions about their personal lives and the impact of their actions on their families.
