MILES FRASER CAUGHT FILMING UP GIRLS' SKIRTS IN BENFLEET AND LEIGH-ON-SEA

In May 2018, a disturbing case emerged involving Miles Fraser, a man with a troubling history of inappropriate behavior targeting young girls in the areas of Benfleet, Canterbury, and Leigh-On-Sea. Fraser, aged 26 and formerly residing in Benfleet before moving to Canterbury, was caught in a public place engaging in highly inappropriate acts that led to his arrest and subsequent court proceedings.

It all began when a vigilant customer shopping at Sainsbury’s in Benfleet noticed suspicious activity. The customer heard the clicking sound of a camera and turned to see Fraser crouched behind two young girls, estimated to be between seven and eight years old. The customer observed Fraser’s actions closely, noting that he was following the girls around the toy aisle while taking photographs up their skirts with his mobile phone. Recognizing the potential danger and misconduct, the customer attempted to alert store security but was unable to locate any staff members at that moment.

Instead, she approached Fraser directly, asking to speak with him. During the interaction, Fraser appeared visibly anxious and admitted to making a mistake. When questioned about whether he had engaged in similar behavior before, Fraser responded, “yes once. I don’t know why.” This admission prompted immediate police intervention. Officers arrived at the scene, arrested Fraser, and seized his mobile device for examination.

Upon inspection, law enforcement officials discovered a folder labeled “favourites” on Fraser’s phone, containing 23 videos that depicted him filming up young girls’ skirts without their knowledge. In addition to these videos, there were 78 other inappropriate images, including footage of him zooming in on women’s breasts while they shopped. The evidence was damning and confirmed Fraser’s pattern of disturbing behavior.

Following his arrest, Fraser was taken to Southend Magistrates’ Court, where he pleaded guilty to multiple charges, including taking an indecent photograph of a child and two counts of outraging public decency. The court heard that Fraser had previously admitted to similar offenses, revealing a troubling pattern of behavior. The court also learned that Fraser had been living in a house share but was evicted after his landlord discovered the nature of his offenses. He is currently residing at his mother’s residence on Fairleigh Drive in Leigh-on-Sea.

In sentencing, Fraser received a three-year community order. This order mandates that he complete a sex offenders’ treatment program and perform 200 hours of unpaid community service. Additionally, he was ordered to sign the sex offenders’ register and was placed under a sexual harm prevention order, restricting his future conduct and contact with minors. The case highlights ongoing concerns about the safety of children in public spaces and the importance of vigilant community members in preventing such heinous acts.
