SEX OFFENDER MIKEY WEBB JAILED AFTER BID FOR NEW LIFE IN NORTH YORKSHIRE FAILS
A young sex offender has been incarcerated after his attempt to start anew in a North Yorkshire village was thwarted.
Mikey Jordan Hanson Webb, 21, was placed on the sex offenders' register after being caught in March with indecent images of children and was given a suspended prison sentence, as confirmed by York Crown Court.
Prosecutor Brooke Morrison explained that Webb repeatedly failed to adhere to the regulations of the register by not registering his address.
In May 2022, he was also found in possession of illegal drugs.
Earlier this summer, Judge Simon Hickey permitted Webb to remain at an address away from Scarborough, where his offences took place, but Webb was subsequently asked to leave because of his behaviour, the court heard.
Webb was sentenced to 22 months in prison, which included the time already served from his previous sentence.
The judge remarked, 'I feel I have no option but to send you there,' acknowledging Webb's youth and immaturity.
The defendant, formerly from Walton Close, Huby, pleaded guilty to two charges of breaching the sex offenders' register, two of drug possession, and one of court attendance failure.
Lily Wildman indicated that Webb has shown some signs of rehabilitation.
