MIKEY HOC JACKED ON SEX OFFENDER LIST AFTER ATTACKS IN MIDLOTHIAN AND EDINBURGH
In February 2019, Mikey Hoc was convicted for a series of disturbing sexual assaults, including a brutal attack on a blind woman in Midlothian that she described as having 'ruined' her life. The 49-year-old victim recounted to the court that she sought help from Hoc after losing her footing outside a block of flats in Craigour Green last May.
She approached two men, one claiming his name was John, and asked for assistance in getting a taxi.
The group walked for approximately ten minutes towards what the woman believed was a bus stop, during which Hoc threatened her, saying he was 'going to bend her over', before forcibly removing her trousers and assaulting her.
The victim explained to advocate depute Liam Ewing, 'There was no room at all for me to move.
I was pressed up against the glass.' She described the attack as lasting hours, saying, 'I asked him to stop, please stop, please stop.
I couldn’t fight him anymore; he was too strong.' After Hoc left, she fell down and began screaming for help, which prompted a woman to come to her aid.
She expressed her devastation, stating, 'I wanted to go home and forget about it, but I couldn’t.
He has ruined my life.
He is evil, evil.
He needs to get locked away.' Hoc committed this offence shortly after being released on bail from Edinburgh Sheriff Court on March 22 of the previous year, when he faced charges of assaulting one student and raping another.
Earlier, Hoc was accused of raping a 15-year-old girl in the graveyard of St.
Cuthbert’s Church on Lothian Road.
The girl testified that Hoc had grabbed her arm, dragged her to a wall in the graveyard, and began molesting and raping her, describing her pain and crying, and recalling that she repeatedly said 'no.' Adding to his offences, Hoc attacked two student friends on March 9 last year after arriving at their college with a bottle of Jack Daniels.
One of the victims, aged 21, said, 'I thought he was pretty drunk.
I couldn’t really understand what he was saying.' During that incident, Hoc forcibly dragged her onto a bed and muffled her mouth with his hand.
Witnesses reported that Hoc earlier had been aggressive towards her friend and had held a knife to her throat.
Lord Kinclaven deferred sentencing Hoc for the preparation of a background report and risk assessment.
In the meantime, Hoc was remanded in custody and placed on the sex offenders’ register, with sentencing scheduled for the following month.
