MICHAEL ROWEN FROM BANBURY SENTENCED FOR SEXUAL OFFENSES INVOLVING THREE SCHOOLGIRLS

In a case that has shocked the community of Banbury, Oxford Crown Court sentenced 23-year-old Michael Rowen to four years in prison after he pleaded guilty to a series of serious sexual offenses involving minors.

The charges against him include a total of 19 counts of engaging in sexual activity with a child, as well as additional allegations of inciting a young girl to participate in pornography and possessing indecent images.

Rowen, who resides on Hart Close in Banbury, appeared before the court on November 3rd to admit guilt to these charges.

The offenses, which spanned from April 2009 to February 2010, involved three schoolgirls who were victims of his manipulative and predatory behavior.

The court heard that Rowen's actions had a profound and damaging impact on the victims, who described their teenage years as being 'lost' due to his exploitation.

Following his conviction, the court imposed a Sexual Offences Prevention Order that will remain in effect for ten years.

Additionally, Rowen was placed on the Sex Offender Register for life, ensuring ongoing monitoring and restrictions aimed at protecting the community from further harm.

Detective Constable Rebecca McLeod, a member of the Child Abuse Investigation Unit in Banbury, provided a statement emphasizing the bravery of the victims.

She said, “The victims in this case have shown considerable bravery in coming forward.

The victims have described their teenage years as having been ‘lost’ as a result of what Michael Rowan did to them.

Michael Rowan manipulated these young girls for his own sexual gratification.

I hope that this sentence will provide each of them with some closure and enable them to move forward with their lives.”
