Michael Rolle, who is 34 years old, was convicted of killing his former partner Charlotte Huggins, age 33, at her aunt’s home in Camberwell, located in south-east London, on January 1st.
During the trial at the Old Bailey, it was revealed that Rolle became aggressive upon seeing Huggins with another man, leading to an attack.
It was also noted that Rolle exhibited controlling behavior and was consumed by jealousy over her interactions with other men throughout their relationship.
Just days before her death, Charlotte referred to Rolle as a 'nutcase' after an incident in which he held a knife near her stomach.
The Crown Prosecution Service highlighted that this was not an accidental event.
On New Year’s Eve, Huggins had been drinking at a pub to mark the occasion, and after she returned home with a friend, Rolle arrived and assaulted her.
Court testimony indicated that Rolle consistently displayed violent and possessive tendencies, which ultimately resulted in her stabbing.
Throughout their relationship, he maintained a controlling and jealous demeanor, and despite her efforts to end the relationship, he persisted in behaving aggressively.
Rolle is scheduled for sentencing this coming Friday.
