According to court proceedings, Redpath engaged in grooming the young girl, establishing a manipulative relationship that ultimately led to repeated acts of abuse and rape.
The victim, who was only eight years old when the abuse began, endured this trauma for nearly four years, with the assaults continuing until she reached the age of 12.
The young girl found the strength to speak out in 2020, confiding in a family member about her ordeal.

Redpath was swiftly arrested on the same day the allegations came to light.
Following his arrest and police questioning, Redpath was released on bail, with authorities stating he was 'under investigation.' However, he did not remain in custody for long.

After an extensive search, he was eventually located and apprehended in Glasgow.
In sentencing, the court handed Redpath an extended prison term of ten years.
Additionally, he was informed that he would be subject to notification requirements for an indefinite period, and he was placed on the sex offenders register for life, reflecting the severity of his crimes and the ongoing risk he poses to the community.
