LONDON MAN ADMITS TO POSSESSING INDECENT IMAGES OF CHILDREN IN COURT
A man identified as Michael Porter, aged 57 and residing in East India Dock Road, Poplar, London, has pleaded guilty to three charges related to the possession of indecent images of children. The court heard that Porter admitted to making indecent images, which included material in the most severe category A.
During the hearing at Ipswich Crown Court, Porter expressed deep remorse, stating that his life had been ruined by his actions and he regretted viewing the images.
The prosecution, represented by Mitchell Cohen, highlighted the seriousness of the case, noting that the images involved a relatively large number of sexually explicit pictures.
Porter, who chose not to have legal representation, informed the court that he has since contacted the child sex abuse helpline 'Stop it Now'.
The judge, Emma Peters, adjourned sentencing until June 1 to allow for a pre-sentence report and warned Porter that he was likely to face a prison sentence, which might be suspended.
She imposed an interim sexual harm prevention order and ordered him to register as a sex offender.
The court was also informed that Porter’s lack of previous convictions and his remorse could influence the sentencing outcome.
