KIRKCALDY PREDATOR JAILED FOR YEARS OF SEXUAL ABUSE AGAINST GIRLS
A Kirkcaldy man has been jailed after carrying out a prolonged campaign of sexual abuse and rape against school-aged girls.Michael McRobie, 34, was found guilty at the High Court in Edinburgh of 12 serious sexual offences, including six rapes involving two teenage victims.
The court heard how McRobie targeted vulnerable children online, building trust before subjecting them to repeated sexual assaults at his flat.
His first known offence began in 2016, with his abuse continuing until 2019.
In 2022, police also discovered indecent images of children in his possession.
One of his victims, who was 16 when they met, told the court she initially spoke to him on the Whisper app, before their communication moved to Kik.
Conversations became sexually explicit, with McRobie sending her explicit photos and pressuring her to reciprocate.
He later convinced her to visit him in person, promising nothing sexual would happen, but instead raped her and subjected her to further assaults, including an instance where she was choked during the attack.
The teenager later moved in with McRobie out of necessity and described feeling coerced into regular sex in exchange for shelter, fearing she would be made homeless if she refused.
Another victim was only 13 when McRobie began abusing her.
He sent her indecent photos of himself and forced her to send him sexual images.
He also physically assaulted her during one of the encounters.
