MICHAEL LEVY AND SHOCKING SEXUAL OFFENCES IN LANCASHIRE
A man described as a "dangerous and predatory" paedophile has been sentenced to prison after committing a series of heinous sexual crimes in Lancashire.Michael Levy, aged 39, was convicted of multiple offences involving both children and an adult woman, revealing a disturbing pattern of predatory behavior that spanned several years.
According to Lancashire Police, Levy sexually abused a nine-year-old girl and a 13-year-old girl on numerous occasions between 2019 and 2021.
The abuse was described as repeated and systematic, with Levy exploiting the innocence of his young victims over an extended period.
The police further revealed that Levy’s actions did not stop there; he also pressured a woman into allowing him entry into her home, where he proceeded to commit a sexual assault and rape her.
Levy’s criminal activities led to his conviction at Preston Crown Court, where he was sentenced to a total of 18 years in prison.
His conviction followed two separate trials, during which he was found guilty of 13 sexual offences committed against children under the age of 13 in March, and subsequently convicted of rape in July.
The police detailed Levy’s manipulative tactics, including bombarding his first and youngest victim with WhatsApp messages in which he expressed love for her.
His second victim was subjected to multiple sexual assaults, including incidents that occurred while she was dressed in her school uniform.
Despite being charged and bailed ahead of his trial, Levy’s predatory behavior continued.
During this period, he began messaging a third victim, pressuring her into meeting him for coffee in January.
He then coerced her into allowing him to visit her home while her friend was present.
The situation escalated after the friend left; Levy bit the victim, sexually assaulted her, and raped her, all while smirking at her, police reports indicated.
The impact of Levy’s actions was profound, especially on the teenage victim’s mother, who provided a victim personal statement to the court.
She described her daughter as once "very bubbly," but noted a drastic change in her mood, including vivid nightmares and frequent tears.
The mother expressed her ongoing fear and stress, revealing how difficult it had become to cope with her daughter’s trauma.
Detective Constable Jo Billington commented on the case, emphasizing the severe and lasting effects of Levy’s crimes.
She described Levy as a "dangerous and predatory offender" with a sordid sexual outlook and a sense of entitlement towards women and girls.
Despite pleas from his victims, Levy continued to plan and carry out his assaults, demonstrating a disturbing lack of remorse.
In addition to his prison sentence, Levy was handed a further five years on licence, making him subject to an indefinite sexual harm prevention order.
He was also ordered to register as a sex offender for life, ensuring ongoing monitoring of his activities to protect the community from further harm.
