In a serious case of online grooming, Michael Hulme, a 43-year-old man from Stoke-on-Trent, was involved in a disturbing series of interactions with underage girls.The incident came to light when a mother in Sheffield took proactive steps to protect her 12-year-old daughter.
She created a fake social media profile pretending to be her daughter, aiming to catch the individual attempting to groom her for sexual purposes.
When Hulme was confronted with the evidence, he did not stay to face the consequences.
Instead, he fled the scene, prompting authorities to launch a thorough investigation.
It was later revealed that Hulme had not only targeted the girl in Sheffield but also attempted to engage with a second 12-year-old girl through social media platforms.
During their online exchanges, Hulme exchanged explicit messages and photographs, clearly indicating his intent to exploit the young victims.
His grooming behavior was uncovered through digital evidence, which showed a pattern of predatory conduct aimed at minors.
Following his arrest and subsequent trial, Hulme was sentenced to three years and eight months in prison.
