October 2003 Father fined for child abuse images A married father has been fined for collecting thousands of images of child pornography. Michael Harrison was ordered to pay £3,400 after police uncovered 3,000 images on two computers and other disks. A judge at Reading Crown Court heard how Harrison’s obsession with child porn had begun after he visited naturist websites. The 38-year-old businessman, whose wife is expecting their second child in December, must also attend a Thames Valley Police sex offenders’ treatment programme. ‘Shameful and disgusting’ Ordering him to stay on the Sex Offenders Register for five years, Judge Jonathan Playford described his activities as “shameful and disgusting”. At an earlier hearing, Harrison had admitted five counts of making indecent photographs of children and one count of possessing indecent photographs of children. Police raided his home in Stonebridge Field, Eton, Berkshire, in March, as part of the Operation Ore investigation into on-line paedophilia.
