MICHAEL FROST FROM MINSTER-ON-SEA JAILED IN SHEERPIN FOR CHILD OFFENCES
A man from Sheppey, Michael Frost, age 57, residing in Minster-on-Sea, has been sentenced to three years in prison after being found in possession of more than 1,000 indecent images of children.Frost, who denied three counts of making an indecent photograph of a child, was convicted following a trial at Maidstone Crown Court.
The sentencing took place on November 5, with Kent Police describing him as a "danger to the public." Frost was already subject to a Sexual Offences Prevention Order at the time of the offences, which involved close monitoring by Kent Police’s Violent and Sex Offender Register (ViSOR) Team.
During routine checks, officers became suspicious that Frost was accessing illegal online materials and subsequently detained him at his home.
Devices belonging to Frost were examined and revealed a total of 1,048 indecent images of children.
Detective Sergeant Vicky Whitmill from Kent Police stated: "Our ViSOR officers are based across the county and diligently monitor individuals who present a danger to the public.
A particular focus is preventing offences taking place, supporting victims, and ensuring robust action is taken against those who seek to offend." She added, "When we learned of Frost's illegal activity, we took immediate action to detain him before a thorough review of evidence led to charges being authorised.
The investigating officer demonstrated tenacity and commitment to build this case, and her outstanding work has resulted in a prison sentence for a man who has shown a remorseless and determined nature to access images of child abuse." Ms.
Whitmill concluded: "I also hope this case serves as a reminder that we will always use the full extent of our powers to keep people safe and to take action against those responsible for causing harm."
