MICHAEL COLLINS FROM SOUTHSEA SENTENCED FOR CHILD INDECENT IMAGES OFFENSES

Michael Collins, a 41-year-old resident of Southsea, has been convicted on charges related to the possession of indecent images of children. The court found that Collins was in possession of more than 68 images, along with a single video file, some of which were classified at the highest severity level, indicating the most serious category of such material.

This case is not Collins's first encounter with the law concerning similar offenses. He had previously been convicted in 2006 for related crimes, highlighting a troubling pattern of behavior that has persisted over the years.

In a sentencing hearing, the judge imposed a nine-month prison sentence, which was suspended for two years. This means Collins will not serve time in prison unless he commits another offense within that period. Additionally, the court mandated that Collins undergo mandatory supervision, ensuring ongoing monitoring of his activities and compliance with legal restrictions.
