DRUNK PUB CUSTOMER SENTENCED AFTER SEXUAL ASSAULT IN BAR
A man who was heavily intoxicated at a pub and sexually assaulted a young woman in Dunfermline has been sentenced.
Michael Byrne, aged 41 and from Burns Street, Crossgates, appeared before Dunfermline Sheriff Court.
He pleaded guilty to sexually assaulting a 19-year-old woman at the Rumblingwell pub on February 8.
Byrne, who was so drunk he cannot remember the assault, touched her bottom during the incident.
The police captured the event on CCTV footage.
The sheriff ordered Byrne to complete six months of supervised community payback and registered him as a sex offender.
The victim was engaged in conversation with several people, including Byrne, when he reached out and touched her.
