MICHAEL BRENNAN SENTENCED IN NEATH FOR ABUSE OF YOUNG GIRL

In August 2020, a disturbing case emerged from Neath involving Michael Brennan, a pensioner who was convicted of subjecting a young girl to a prolonged and systematic campaign of sexual abuse. The heinous acts committed by Brennan, who was 67 years old at the time, have left a lasting scar on his victim, whose life was forever altered by his actions.

As far as she is concerned it is a life sentence, in that sense. It may be that the pain will diminish but it will never truly go."

As a result of his conviction, Brennan was sentenced to an 11-year extended sentence as a dangerous offender. This sentence comprises ten years in custody, followed by a one-year extended license period. Additionally, Brennan will be registered as a sex offender for the remainder of his life and was subjected to an indefinite sexual harm prevention order, ensuring ongoing restrictions and monitoring to protect the public from further harm.
