MICHAEL ANDERSON FROM BRAUNSTONE SENTENCED FOR CHILD SEXUAL ABUSE IN LEICESTER

In October 2018, a man from Leicester was formally sentenced in connection with serious allegations of child sexual abuse at Leicester Crown Court.

The individual, identified as Michael Anderson, who resides on Webster Road in the Braunstone area, appeared before the court to face charges related to his inappropriate conduct involving a minor.

Michael Anderson, aged 54, pleaded guilty to charges of causing or inciting a child to engage in sexual activity.

The court's judgment resulted in a prison sentence of 32 months.

Additionally, Anderson was ordered to register as a sex offender for the remainder of his life and was subjected to a Sexual Harm Prevention Order that will last for ten years.

A lifelong restraining order was also issued, explicitly prohibiting Anderson from making any contact with the victim.

The case revealed disturbing details about Anderson’s relationship with the victim, which began in 2012 when she was only 11 years old.

Over the course of several years, Anderson cultivated a relationship of trust and friendship with her.

During this period, he bought her sweets, clothing, and even provided her with cigarettes and cannabis, all the while portraying himself as a confidant and someone she could rely on.

His manipulative behavior aimed to establish a sense of dependency and emotional connection.

However, as the victim reached the age of 13, Anderson’s conduct shifted significantly.

His behavior became increasingly predatory, with his comments towards her growing more personal and inappropriate.

It was at this point that he initiated sexual activity with her, crossing a serious boundary and causing lasting harm.

Following the incident, Anderson was sentenced to an additional two years and eight months in prison.

The court also mandated a ten-year Sexual Harm Prevention Order, which restricts his actions and interactions.

The judge emphasized the severity of his actions by issuing an indefinite restraining order, ensuring he is permanently barred from contacting the victim.

The victim, who was present in court and listened to the sentencing behind a screen, demonstrated courage by confiding in a teacher at her school, which ultimately led to police involvement.

Her bravery in coming forward played a crucial role in bringing Anderson’s misconduct to light and securing justice in this case.
