A man from Leicester, Melvin Davis, has been sentenced to ten years in prison after being convicted of sexually abusing three young girls who served as babysitters during the 1970s. The 69-year-old, identified as John Deacon in court, faced multiple charges of indecency offences following a trial. The victims, now adults, shared the profound and lasting impact the abuse had on their lives. The court highlighted that the offences deprived them of their childhood innocence. Additionally, Deacon will be required to register as a sex offender for the rest of his life.
