PORT SETON MAN PLEADS GUILTY TO YEARS OF DOMESTIC ABUSE
A MAN has pleaded guilty to carrying out a series of domestic abuse offences against a woman in Port Seton.
Matthew Wilson engaged in the course of conduct that was abusive of the woman at an address in the village between January 1, 2023, and August 18 last year.
Wilson repeatedly shouted, swore, made derogatory remarks and uttered threats of violence during the couple’s relationship.
The 22-year-old also accessed her phone without permission and, on one occasion, he locked her out of the property and threw her belongings out into the street.
Wilson, of Poplar Park, Port Seton, admitted the offences when he appeared in the dock at Edinburgh Sheriff Court last Tuesday.
Sentence and the consideration of a non-harassment order were both deferred for the preparation of a social work report to next month.
