JAILED EX-VIOLENT PARTNER RELEASED EARLY SPARKS WARNING TO WOMEN IN STOKE-ON-TRENT
A man named Matthew Kowal, who was convicted of three counts of assault and one count of common assault, has been released early from prison and moved to a hostel in Stoke-on-Trent just eight weeks into his three-year sentence.His former partner, Hayley Johns, a 38-year-old mother of three, has issued a warning to women in the area about his dangerous nature.
Hayley described Kowal as an 'absolute predator' and urged women to do a Clare’s Law search.
She expressed her disbelief and concern over his early release, stating, ‘People need to watch out for him.

She credits a friend with saving her life from further harm.
Hayley also expressed her fear that Kowal, who was initially remanded in custody, was transferred to Stoke-on-Trent due to prison capacity issues.
The Ministry of Justice has not commented specifically on his case but noted that anyone released into Home Detention Curfew must adhere to strict conditions including being tagged, with consequences for violations.
Hayley warned others about his manipulative tactics, describing how he initially appeared charming but later displayed abusive behaviors, and emphasized the importance of vigilance.
She revealed that his early release nearly caused her to take her own life, and she urges women to be cautious and trust their instincts to avoid similar fates.
