MATTHEW HARTLEY-YOUNG FROM BOURNEMOUTH INVOLVED IN SHOCKING SEXUAL OFFENSES ON TRAIN IN WINCHESTER AND BOURNEMOUTH
In a series of disturbing incidents, Matthew Hartley-Young, a man with a troubling criminal history, has once again found himself at the center of serious allegations involving sexual misconduct. The latest incident occurred on March 14, 2016, when Hartley-Young was found at a residence on Redhill Drive in Bournemouth, where he was present for an unlawful purpose.
The court proceedings revealed that Hartley-Young, aged 21 at the time, admitted to being at the house for reasons that violated the law.
As a result, he was given a conditional discharge that would last for 12 months, meaning he would not serve time in prison unless he committed another offense during that period.
Additionally, a restraining order was issued against him to prevent any contact with the victim or associated parties.
The court also ordered Hartley-Young to pay a victim surcharge of £15 and cover court costs amounting to £85.
However, this was not Hartley-Young’s first encounter with the criminal justice system.
Back in March 2008, he was involved in a highly troubling incident that led to his imprisonment.
On the day of his release from Dartmoor prison, Hartley-Young was traveling by train from Basingstoke to Winchester when he committed a sexual offense against a teenage girl.
The victim, a 17-year-old girl whose identity cannot be disclosed for legal reasons, was on a train with her bicycle.
Hartley-Young, who had been released earlier that morning and was reportedly intoxicated after consuming 11 cans of lager, approached her under the pretense of helping her secure her bicycle inside the train carriage.
During this interaction, the girl accidentally dropped some items on the floor.
As she bent down to retrieve her belongings, Hartley-Young offered his hand and attempted to kiss her.
It was at this moment that he inappropriately touched her, fondling her in a sexual manner.
The incident was reported to authorities, and Hartley-Young was swiftly arrested at Winchester railway station.
His criminal record includes previous offenses, notably a conviction for sexual activity with an underage girl, which underscores a pattern of concerning behavior.
The court proceedings highlighted the severity of his actions, and he pleaded guilty to the charge of sexual touching.
Hartley-Young’s actions on that day shocked the community and drew attention to the ongoing issues of sexual misconduct and the importance of vigilant law enforcement.
These incidents serve as stark reminders of the dangers posed by individuals with a history of sexual offenses and the need for continued vigilance and appropriate legal measures to protect the public, especially vulnerable minors.
Hartley-Young’s case remains a significant point of concern for authorities in Bournemouth, Winchester, and beyond, as they work to ensure justice and safety for all citizens involved.
