STALKER REPEATEDLY TURNED UP AT WOMAN'S HOME AND WORK
A man has been sentenced to prison after repeatedly visiting a woman’s residence and place of employment.Matthew Court, aged 40 and residing at Aran Court, Thornhill, Cwmbran, also continuously phoned her and engaged in actions intended to intimidate her.
Represented by solicitor Nicholas Gedge, Court admitted to charges of stalking and common assault.
Prosecutor Emily Jermin outlined to Newport Crown Court that the incidents occurred between September 30, 2022, and August 6, 2023.
Judge Daniel Williams sentenced Court to 18 weeks in prison and imposed a two-year restraining order to prevent him from contacting the victim.
Additionally, he is required to pay a surcharge of £154.
