MATTHEW CLAYDEN SENTENCED TO TWO AND A HALF YEARS FOR RAPE IN AYLESBURY
A 32-year-old man named Matthew Clayden from Norfolk Road, Buntingford, Hertfordshire, has been sentenced to two and a half years in prison for the crime of rape committed at a pub in Aylesbury.
Clayden pleaded guilty to charges of rape and sexual assault during a hearing at Amersham Crown Court on Monday, February 21.
The incident occurred on August 27 of the previous year, when the victim visited a pub in Aylesbury to enjoy drinks with friends.
While alone with her, Clayden forcibly kissed her, touched her breasts, and coerced her into performing oral sex.
As a result of his actions, he has been permanently placed on the sex offenders register.
Investigating officer Detective Constable Laura Wright, based at Aylesbury police station, commented on the case, saying, "This is a suitable conviction for a serious crime committed against a vulnerable young woman, who was having some drinks with friends." She also commended the victim's resilience during the investigation, stating, "The victim has been extremely strong throughout this process, and we hope that she and her family are satisfied that justice has been served against the offender."
