CRYSTAL PALACE YOUTH COACH CONVICTED OF MULTIPLE SEXUAL ASSAULTS AGAINST CHILDREN
The article reports serious sexual offenses committed by Martyn Cook, a youth coach at Crystal Palace.
Cook has been found guilty of carrying out multiple sexual assaults against children, with evidence revealing he targeted young boys and engaged in illicit activities such as taking them to away matches, buying them trendy clothes, and spending extensive time with particular pupils, which facilitated his abuses.
During his trial, it was disclosed that Cook, a 47-year-old public school teacher, had a history of similar offenses, with a previous conviction 12 years prior.
The father of one of his victims has voiced his outrage, mentioning that he alerted Palace chairman Ron Noades, who was reportedly horrified and promised to stop Cook from working with children.
Despite this, Cook received support from Steve Kember, a Palace coach, who commented that he felt betrayed for trusting Cook.
Cook is scheduled to be sentenced on June 20.
