MARTYN BUTCHER OF BLACKPOOL PLEADS GUILTY TO MAKING AND POSSESSING CHILD INDECENT IMAGES
In March 2016, Martyn Butcher, a 29-year-old former call centre employee from Abbotsford Road, Marton, appeared in court after being charged with producing nearly 12,000 indecent images of children.
Butcher pleaded guilty to three counts of creating indecent photographs of children, some classified at the highest level of depravity.
Additionally, he admitted to two charges of possessing such images.
Malcolm Isherwood, the prosecuting lawyer, stated that some of the images were of the most severe indecency level and requested that Butcher be sentenced at Crown Court.
The case was heard at Blackpool Magistrates’ Court, where District Judge Jeff Brailsford granted bail.
Butcher is scheduled to appear at Preston Crown Court on April 16 and has been ordered not to contact any individuals under the age of 16.
