MARTIN MOON'S SHOCKING CRIMES IN PINCHBECK AND LINCOLN: PAEDOPHILE SENTENCED FOR SEXUAL OFFENSES INVOLVING SCHOOLGIRL

In July 2018, Martin Moon, a 32-year-old man residing on Bridgewater Lane in Pinchbeck, was convicted and sentenced to a lengthy prison term for a series of disturbing sexual offenses involving a 15-year-old girl. The case revealed a pattern of predatory behavior that spanned over several months, with Moon engaging in illicit activities that included sending explicit videos and images, as well as attempting to manipulate the young victim into sexual acts.

According to court proceedings, police officers visited Moon’s residence in Pinchbeck in July 2017, during which they confiscated an iPhone from him. An examination of the device uncovered a disturbing collection of indecent images and videos, including 33 of the most serious Category A material depicting the girl, who appeared to be under 16. Additional images fell into Categories B and C, with 3 and 350 images respectively, highlighting the extent of the material stored on his device.

Prosecutor Gareth Weetman detailed that the images and chat logs revealed the girl’s preference for dominant relationships, with some messages referring to Moon as “Daddy.” The communications also included sexual videos sent by the girl, as well as a video of Moon masturbating, which he had shared with her. The court heard that Moon continued to maintain contact with the girl even after his arrest, with police discovering an additional 45 Category C images on another phone used by Moon during the investigation.

Further evidence indicated that Moon had met the girl in London after she turned 16 in March of the same year, suggesting ongoing contact and potential grooming. It was also revealed that Moon had married his current wife following his arrest in July 2017, and she was aware of his criminal conduct.

Moon pleaded guilty to multiple charges, including causing or inciting a child to engage in sexual activity, sexual exploitation of a child, and causing a child to watch a sexual act. He also admitted to making a total of 386 indecent photographs of children, including 45 images classified as Category C. The offenses took place between May 12 and July 28, 2017.

In sentencing, Judge John Pini QC condemned Moon’s actions, describing him as an “entrenched and determined paedophile” with no intention of changing his ways. Moon was sentenced to eight years in prison, followed by an extended four-year license period upon release, ensuring continued supervision.

Earlier in 2018, Moon’s criminal history was highlighted when he faced additional charges related to his previous offenses. In January 2011, he was jailed for 30 months after being convicted of sexual activity with a different 15-year-old girl while working as a teaching assistant in Boston. At that time, he was also placed under a Sexual Offences Prevention Order. The court heard that Moon had seduced the girl through Facebook, exchanged flirtatious messages, and engaged in sexual activity at a flat he shared with his then-partner, just weeks before his wedding.

During that earlier trial, it was revealed that Moon had made contact with the girl via social media, expressing affection and arranging to meet. His behavior escalated to physical intimacy, and he was subsequently arrested and convicted for these actions. His conduct was described as manipulative and exploitative, with the court noting the serious breach of trust involved.

Judge Simon Hirst, in the 2018 case, adjourned sentencing until June 8 for a detailed report on Moon’s risk level, but he was granted conditional bail despite the inevitable prison sentence. The court emphasized the gravity of Moon’s repeated offenses and his persistent predatory behavior, which demonstrated a clear pattern of exploitation and abuse of vulnerable young girls in the Lincoln area, particularly in Pinchbeck and Boston. The case underscores the ongoing threat posed by individuals like Moon and the importance of vigilant law enforcement and judicial oversight to protect minors from such predatory conduct.
