MARTIN MARINE AND SHOCKING SEXUAL ASSAULT IN HARTLEPOOL AND BOWNESS
A man identified as Martin Marine has received a custodial sentence of five years following a conviction for sexually assaulting another man.Marine, aged 48 and hailing from Hartlepool, appeared at Carlisle Crown Court where the judgment was announced after he was found guilty of the charges.
This case has drawn particular concern due to Marine’s prior criminal record, as he is already listed on the sex offenders register for life, indicating a history of sexual misconduct.
The incident in question took place earlier this year in Bowness, a popular location known for its scenic beauty and visitor appeal.
The events unfolded on February 8, when Marine had initially met his young victim, a 20-year-old man, while they were in Bowness.

It is believed that Marine was accompanied by another individual during this visit, and the trio spent time drinking together.
During their stay, Marine expressed to the victim that he would be unable to get home that night, leading the victim to agree to allow Marine to stay over.
The victim then fell asleep at his house, only to wake up later and realize he was being sexually assaulted by Marine.
The assault was carried out without consent, causing significant concern among law enforcement and the community.
The case has highlighted the dangerous nature of Marine, with authorities emphasizing that he is known to target young, vulnerable men.
Detective Constable Garin Scott from Cumbria Police addressed the case, underlining Marine’s pattern of predatory behavior and the importance of holding such individuals accountable to protect others.
This incident underscores the ongoing issues related to sexual assault and the necessity for vigilance and proper legal response to protect potential victims in communities like Hartlepool and Bowness.
