WIGAN PAEDOPHILE MARTIN FINCH AND KATHRYN WILKINSON SENTENCED FOR ABUSE OF YOUNG GIRLS
In a disturbing case that has shocked the community of Wigan, a man named Martin Finch has been convicted of heinous crimes involving the sexual abuse of multiple young girls. The incident, which took place over a period leading up to August 2020, revealed a pattern of predatory behavior that included drugging and assaulting vulnerable victims.
Martin Finch, a 44-year-old resident of Broom Road, Wigan, was found guilty in Bolton Crown Court of multiple serious charges.
His crimes included two counts of rape, seven counts of sexual assault, and one count of sexual assault by penetration.
Alarmingly, five of these charges involved victims under the age of 14, highlighting the particularly grave nature of his offenses.
During the court proceedings, Finch was present alongside Kathryn Wilkinson, also from Broom Road, Wigan.
Wilkinson was convicted of one count of sexual assault and one count of sexual assault by penetration.
Her involvement in the crimes was significant enough to warrant a five-year prison sentence.
The court heard that Finch’s method involved luring young girls by offering them alcohol, which he used to intoxicate them before committing acts of sexual violence.
In one particularly disturbing incident, Finch raped one of his victims, and Wilkinson then appeared on the scene, exposing herself to the girl before also sexually assaulting her.
This sequence of events underscores the calculated and depraved nature of their actions.
Detective Constable Alastair Macmillan, of Greater Manchester Police’s Wigan division, emphasized the severity of the case.
“The severity of this case should not be underestimated.
Finch is not only a rapist, but also a paedophile,” he stated.
“He was cunning and calculated in the way he intoxicated his victims before preying on them, with Wilkinson also joining him in this depraved behaviour.” He further expressed gratitude to the victims for their bravery in coming forward.
“I want to thank the victims for speaking out.
I can only imagine how difficult this investigation must have been for them; however, their bravery and assistance have been crucial in ensuring that Finch and Wilkinson face justice for their horrendous actions.” The detective highlighted the lasting impact of the abuse, noting that the victims are likely to carry the trauma for the rest of their lives.
The case serves as a stark reminder of the importance of vigilance and the need to protect vulnerable children from such predatory individuals.
