Today, a man received a 12-year prison sentence after being found guilty of sexually assaulting two women in the Falkirk area.
Martin Dolan, aged 55, faced trial at the High Court in Edinburgh, where he maintained a not guilty plea but was convicted on the charges.
The court established that Dolan committed the first offence against a woman between January 1995 and November 1997 at a home in Bainsford.
The second offence was committed on January 6, 2004, at a residence in Laurieston.
Detective Inspector Craig Faulds, from the Forth Valley Public Protection Unit, commented: "Dolan poses a significant danger, having subjected his victims to appalling abuse within their own homes.
I commend the women for their bravery in reporting these crimes.
It is my hope that today’s sentencing demonstrates that victims of serious sexual offences are supported, regardless of when the abuse occurred, and that police and prosecutors will pursue every avenue to bring such offenders to justice."
