MOLESTING SEX OFFENDER MARTIN BLAKE SENTENCED IN LANCASTER AND LONGRIDGE
A dangerous sex offender named Martin Blake has been sentenced to five years in prison after authorities discovered he was in possession of numerous indecent images of children stored across multiple electronic devices. The case was brought to public attention following a scheduled compliance check carried out by officers from the East MOSOVO (Management of Sexual or Violent Offenders) Team.
This inspection took place at Blake’s residence, which is located on Redwood Drive in Longridge, Lancashire.
The officers became concerned that Blake was not complying with the conditions set by his Sexual Harm Prevention Order (SHPO), prompting the welfare check and device seizure.
Blake, aged 58, has a criminal history that includes convictions for child prostitution and multiple counts of fraud, which adds an important context to the severity of his violations.
As part of the investigation, authorities confiscated various electronic devices from Blake’s home.
These included an iPhone, several USB sticks, and a desktop computer.
The detailed forensic examination of these devices uncovered the presence of indecent images of children categorized as Category A, B, and C, found across the PC, the iPhone, and five separate USB sticks.
This evidence highlighted the extent of Blake’s illicit collection and his deliberate attempt to conceal this material.
Furthermore, it was revealed that Blake had committed multiple additional breaches of his legal obligations.
He had used several unregistered aliases and bank accounts, complicating efforts to monitor his activities.
He also failed to surrender other devices that were identified during the investigation, breaching the terms of his court-ordered restrictions.
Martin Blake pleaded guilty to the charges of possessing indecent images of children.
He also admitted to violations of his Sex Offender Notification Requirements and the terms of his SHPO.
His court appearance took place earlier this week at Preston Crown Court, where the judge handed down a custodial sentence of five years.
Additionally, Blake was subjected to a revised 10-year SHPO, which extends the period during which he is legally prohibited from engaging in certain activities or accessing specific online content.
In addition to the prison term and the updated SHPO, Blake was ordered to register as a sex offender for life, ensuring ongoing monitoring and legal restriction.
The case underscores the ongoing efforts of law enforcement in Lancashire to combat sexual offenses and protect children from exploitation, especially when offenders attempt to circumvent established legal safeguards.
