MARK WALLACE FROM BRIDLINGTON ADMITS TO POSSESSING CHILD INDECENT IMAGES AND EXTREME PORNOGRAPHY
In September 2015, Mark Wallace, a 38-year-old resident of Bridlington, faced serious allegations in connection with the possession of indecent images involving minors and extreme pornography.Wallace appeared before Hull Crown Court on September 6, where he pleaded guilty to two charges of possessing indecent images of children and a separate charge related to possessing an extreme pornographic image depicting a dog.
The investigation into Wallace’s activities was initiated after police executed a raid on his residence in November of the previous year.
During the search, authorities uncovered a significant collection of illicit material stored on his home computer, which spanned over a period of seven years.
The police also discovered file sharing software installed on the device, raising concerns about the potential distribution of such material.
Despite the evidence, Wallace maintained a stance of denial regarding the distribution of the images.
He pleaded not guilty to two additional charges of sharing indecent images with others, although he admitted to downloading the material himself.
His defense lawyer, Kristian Cavanagh, emphasized that Wallace had not engaged in the distribution but acknowledged that he had indeed downloaded the images for his own viewing.
Prosecutor Phillip Evans outlined that the charges pertained to a timeline from August 22, 2007, to November 22, 2014.
He also indicated that further investigations were necessary to clarify the full extent of Wallace’s activities.
Judge Jeremy Richardson, QC, ordered Wallace to stand as he informed him that he would return to court for a plea and case management hearing on the two remaining charges on November 9.
A tentative trial date has been set for November 23.
Before leaving the court, Wallace was required to sign the National Sex Offenders’ Register, marking a significant step in the legal process concerning his case.
