Hyde paedophile jailed for series of horrific crimes against two young girls

A man convicted of multiple sexual offences against two young girls has been sentenced to imprisonment. Mark Thomson, aged 46 and residing on Tyrell Grove in Hyde, was sentenced to 24 years in prison at Manchester Crown Court. His convictions include charges of oral rape, attempted rape, and several sexual assaults involving the two victims, both of whom were under 13. Thomson’s crimes encompassed an act of oral rape directed at one girl and inappropriate sexual conduct towards the other. Detective Sergeant Jemma Ford from Greater Manchester Police’s South Manchester CID expressed her gratitude to the victims for their courage in coming forward and sharing their experiences. She also commended the dedicated efforts of the CID team in securing justice and hoped that the verdict would offer some sense of closure for the victims.
