MARK SORENSON FROM SELSEY JAILED FOR CHILD SEX OFFENCES IN CHICHESTER

In a significant case that has sent shockwaves through the community of Selsey, a local man named Mark Sorenson, aged 50, was sentenced to a total of six years in prison following his guilty plea to a series of serious child sex offences. The sentencing took place at Chichester Crown Court, where Sorenson appeared to face the consequences of his actions, which spanned over several years and involved multiple criminal activities related to the exploitation of minors.

In court, Sorenson admitted to a series of grave offences. These included attempting to incite a girl aged between 13 and 15 to engage in sexual activity in 2013, facilitating or arranging the commission of a child sex offence between 2011 and 2013, and making ten indecent images of children over the period from 2010 to 2013. His guilty plea was accepted, and the court sentenced him accordingly.

The sentence handed down was six years in total, with a division of time served in prison and on license. Specifically, Sorenson is to serve three years behind bars, followed by three years on a release license, during which he will be subject to strict supervision. Additionally, he was issued with a sexual offences prevention order that will remain in effect indefinitely, severely restricting his access to children and computers. Furthermore, Sorenson is now required to register as a sex offender for life, ensuring ongoing monitoring of his activities.
