SHREWSBURY PAEDOPHILE MARK SNELL SENTENCED AFTER HORRIFIC ABUSE REVEALED IN CORNWALL
In a disturbing case that has shocked the community of Shrewsbury and the surrounding Cornwall area, Mark Snell, aged 52, has been convicted and sentenced for heinous acts of child abuse. The ordeal came to light when a vigilant father uncovered Snell abusing his young daughter, an incident that has left lasting scars on the victim and the community alike.
According to reports, Snell managed to lure the young girl into a private setting in Cornwall, where he engaged in sexual misconduct.
The abuse was only halted when her father, upon noticing suspicious behavior, intervened and discovered the disturbing scene.
The father’s quick action prevented further harm, but the emotional damage had already been inflicted.
Following the incident, the girl confided in her parents about the abuse, prompting a police investigation.
During the search of Snell’s residence, authorities uncovered a hidden phone containing explicit images, including close-up photographs of the girl’s private parts.
The phone also contained videos of the assault, which Snell had recorded to relive his sickening act.
Prosecutor Brian Fitzherbert provided a detailed account of the case, describing how Snell engaged in sexual activity with the young girl.
The victim has since become withdrawn and visibly upset, a clear sign of the trauma she endured.
During her police interview, she recounted how Snell had instructed her to keep the abuse a secret, further complicating her emotional state.
Medical examinations confirmed the presence of Snell’s DNA on the girl, providing concrete evidence of the assault.
The case was brought before Truro Crown Court, where Judge Simon Carr delivered the sentence.
Snell pleaded guilty to two counts of sexual assault of a girl under 13 and making an indecent image of a child classified as Category C.
Judge Carr emphasized the severity of the crime, stating that if the father had not intervened, the abuse might have continued unchecked.
He expressed concern about the long-term impact on the victim, noting that such trauma often leaves lifelong scars.
The judge also pointed out the disturbing fact that Snell had filmed the abuse, claiming he did so to relive the attack, despite claiming to have no sexual interest in children.
As part of his sentence, Snell was sentenced to six years in prison.
Additionally, he is required to register as a sex offender, ensuring ongoing monitoring of his activities.
This case serves as a stark reminder of the importance of vigilance and swift action in protecting vulnerable children from predators within the community.
