MARK LILLYWHITE FROM DORMANSLAND SENTENCED FOR PREGNANCY OF TEENAGE GIRL IN GUILDFORD
In a disturbing case that has shocked the community of Dormansland and the surrounding areas, Mark Lillywhite, aged 34, has been subjected to a significant extension of his prison sentence following revelations of his repeated sexual misconduct involving a teenage girl.Initially, Lillywhite was sentenced to four years in prison in 2008 after being convicted of engaging in sexual activities with a girl who was only 13 years old at the time. The court heard that his actions had serious and lasting consequences, as the girl became pregnant as a result of their encounters.
Despite his initial conviction, Lillywhite’s criminal behavior did not cease. While he was still on bail for the original charges, he engaged in further sexual activity with the same girl, which led to her becoming pregnant once again. This second incident was particularly grave because it resulted in the girl giving birth to a child, who is now two years old. The first pregnancy was terminated through an abortion, but the second pregnancy culminated in the birth of a child, adding to the severity of his offenses.
During a court hearing at Guildford Crown Court on a recent Tuesday, it was revealed that Lillywhite was already serving time for the initial offense, which occurred in 2005. In that earlier case, Lillywhite had denied having sexual relations with the girl, claiming that she had impregnated herself using a condom he had used with his girlfriend. However, evidence and DNA testing proved otherwise, confirming that he was the biological father of the child born from the second pregnancy.
The prosecution, led by David Povall, detailed how Lillywhite was first arrested in 2006 and charged with sexual activity with a minor. It was during his time on bail that he encountered the girl at a party, where they engaged in consensual sex in a bathroom. This encounter, which took place in November 2006, resulted in her becoming pregnant again.
DNA analysis conclusively linked Lillywhite to the child, now aged two, confirming his paternity. The court was informed that the girl, now 16, had been obsessed with Lillywhite for nearly four years, which added a layer of concern regarding her vulnerability and the manipulative nature of the relationship.
In mitigation, Lillywhite’s legal representative, Natalie Sherbourne, expressed her client’s desire to relocate to Derby, where he has close ties, in hopes of starting anew. Despite this, Judge Michael Addison sentenced Lillywhite to an additional nine months in prison, extending his incarceration and emphasizing the gravity of his repeated offenses.
Judge Addison described the case as unusual and highlighted the girl’s infatuation with Lillywhite, noting that she had even appeared in court previously to support him, albeit with false statements. Nevertheless, the judge decided against imposing a ban on Lillywhite working with children, stating that he did not believe there was a significant risk of future offenses involving minors. The case remains a stark reminder of the devastating impact of such predatory behavior and the importance of vigilant legal action to protect vulnerable individuals.
