MARK HENDERSON IN DUNFERMLINE FAILS TO COMPLETE COMMUNITY PAYBACK ORDER
A domestic offender from Dunfermline, Mark Henderson, has not fulfilled his unpaid community work commitment a year after sentencing.
Henderson, 43, of Buffies Brae, appeared before Dunfermline Sheriff Court to admit breaching his community payback order.
Previously, he subjected his former partner to 18 months of abuse, including threats to stab her and run her over, and he also threatened to attack her daughter with a hammer.
Despite warnings from the court several weeks prior, Henderson had only completed two hours of his 180-hour unpaid work requirement, demonstrating a dismissive attitude toward his obligations.
Sheriff Susan Duff ordered that his unpaid work be extended by six months and warned him that he could face imprisonment if his compliance did not improve.
Henderson had earlier pleaded guilty to a series of abusive actions between March 2020 and September 2021.
These included assaulting his partner with a games console, repeatedly threatening violence against her and her daughter, and even stating he would hit her with a hammer with the intent to cause her death.
The sheriff observed that Henderson, much like many domestic offenders, considers himself a victim and tends to interpret events solely from his own perspective.
At his previous sentencing, a community payback order involving supervision and unpaid work was imposed, alongside two-year non-harassment orders designed to protect his ex-partner and her child.
