MARK GODSALL OF BRITON FERRY ESCAPES PRISON AFTER SEX LETTER INCIDENT IN 2009

In March 2009, a man from Briton Ferry, Mark Godsall, avoided a prison sentence after writing a disturbing letter to two young girls aged five and four, in which he expressed a desire to have sex with them.

Godsall described the sisters as "sexy and stunning" and stated he wanted to give them "a treat known as sex." The incident came to light when the girls’ parents opened a letter addressed to their children at 8:50 am on October 20. The parents were immediately distressed upon reading its contents.

During court proceedings, Mr. Riordan explained that Godsall had written: "I am writing to say I love you. You are both sexy and stunning girls and I want to give you a treat known as sex — sex with the two of you at the same time. I’m an easy boy to please and you’ll love being pleased by me."

Although Godsall did not sign the letter, authorities traced him after discovering his fingerprints on it. The 32-year-old, formerly residing on Heol Wenallt, Cwmgwrach, was arrested and fully confessed to police. He explained that he had written the letter while intoxicated, claiming he intended it as a joke, though he now recognized that it was not funny.

He also asserted that he had no actual intention of harming the children. Godsall pleaded guilty at Swansea Crown Court to attempting to incite children to engage in sexual activity, avoiding any imprisonment.
