PORTSMOUTH MAN JAILED FOR LIFE AFTER ABUSING TEENAGE BOY
Mark Fox-Mulder, aged 61, was convicted of repeatedly abusing and raping a teenage boy after grooming him.
The victim, who was 13 at the time, was manipulated with alcohol, cannabis, and cigarettes at Fox-Mulder's flat in Waterlooville.
The offender had previously changed his name from Mark Palmer, citing his admiration for the TV series The X-Files.
The court sentenced Fox-Mulder at Portsmouth Crown Court to a term that includes lifetime registration on the sex offenders register and a sexual harm prevention order that restricts contact with children.
During the trial, the judge Timothy Mousley QC stated that the abuse was carried out incrementally and that the victim was too scared to report initially.
The victim, now in his late 20s, disclosed that the abuse has haunted him, leading to drug problems, depression, and anxiety.
Fox-Mulder was found guilty of three charges of rape and four of sexual activity with a child, despite denying all charges.
The court acknowledged the procedural and behavioral details of the abuse, highlighting the deliberate nature of his actions and the impact on the victim's mental health.
