MAN JAILED FOR CHILD ABUSE AFTER HORROR FILM INCIDENT
A man was jailed after a court heard that he abused a girl and then showed her a horror film.He also told the youngster to keep quiet about the incident because her parents would not believe it, Nottingham Crown Court heard.
Mark Crampton, of Blenheim Cottages in Bulwell, denied indecent assault but was found guilty by a jury and has now been sent to prison for four years.
The incident took place when the girl - who cannot be identified - was aged between four and six.
Judge Martin Hurst told 48-year-old Crampton said the horror film was a terrifying picture of a man with sharp teeth and blood coming out of a television screen.
In a statement read in court, she said that childbirth brought back the horror of abuse she suffered more than 20 years ago.
She added: "I can have panic attacks in town when someone walks close to me, especially men.
I know people can push past you in busy supermarkets.
"There is so much hatred.
I just hate him and it is still affecting my life.
I want to have closure and move forward with my life." Police began to investigate when approached by the woman with the support of her partner in 2018.
Detective Constable Glenn Finbow, who investigated the case, said: “This was a despicable sexual assault against a very young girl and I would like to commend the victim in this case for her bravery in coming forward.
“I want to encourage anyone who has experienced sexual abuse to do the same.
You will be treated with dignity and sensitivity and we will do everything we can to support you.”
