March 2018: Archbold has now been released April 2014 Pervert jailed for abusing two girls A pervert has been sentenced to eight years for abusing two young girls Mark Archbold of Shildon, Count Durham appeared at Newcastle Crown Court where he admitted a string of sexual offences against two girls aged under 13 The court was told that Archbold was 18 at the time of the offences which took place over a 5 year period beginning in 1987 Archbold who worked at Jewitts abattoir in Pennymoor groomed and then sexually abused two girls aged eight and ten years old It took the victims 25 years to find the strength to speak out about the abuse they suffered, after Archbold had threatened them into silence Judge Robert Adams sentenced Archbold to an eight year sentence of which he must serve half He was told that he must register as a sex offender for life
