LONDON MAN JAILED FOR STABBING PARTNER OVER 60 TIMES
A 29-year-old man named Mark Alexander, who previously lived on Clapham Road, has been found guilty of manslaughter in connection with the death of his partner, Azaria Williams.The fatal incident took place at their residence in Clapham on December 27, 2020, where Alexander inflicted over 60 stab wounds on Ms.
Williams.
An autopsy confirmed that she had been stabbed 63 times during a violent attack.
During the court proceedings, Alexander admitted to manslaughter on the basis of diminished responsibility.
He initially claimed that someone else was responsible for the killing; however, evidence such as bloodstained knives and DNA matching Alexander demonstrated his involvement.
Police responded to a disturbance call from the home and, upon arrival, discovered the weapons covered in blood alongside CCTV footage depicting Alexander and Ms.
Williams together shortly before the assault.
Alexander was apprehended at the scene, questioned, and subsequently convicted.
He received a 15-year prison sentence at the Old Bailey.
Detective Sergeant Jason Crinnion from the Met’s Specialist Crime Command characterized the assault as ‘vicious’ and stated that Alexander would no longer pose a threat, highlighting the brutality of the violence against a vulnerable woman.
