MAN WHO BROKE INTO HIS EX-WIFE'S HOME BRANDISHING WEAPONS HAS BEEN JAILED
Malcolm Boyle, a resident of Longsands Road in St Neots, arrived at his ex-wife’s house in Buckden around 1:40 am on December 7 wielding a knife and hammer.
He began pounding on her bedroom window, prompting her to alert her niece — also in the house — to call the police and then leave the property to seek help.
During this time, the niece encountered Boyle on the landing, holding the weapons, as he was attempting to commit suicide.
Boyle took her phone and stamped on it, leading to a confrontation before she was able to escape the house.
Police officers found Boyle on a first-floor roof when they arrived.
At Cambridge Crown Court on August 2, Boyle, aged 58, was sentenced to six years in prison after admitting to several charges: criminal damage, breaching a non-molestation order, possession of a knife, using violence to gain entry into premises, and common assault.
