HARTLEPOOL SEX OFFENDER MADHURADEEN MOHAMED JAILED FOR MULTIPLE SEXUAL ASSAULTS
In August 2019, Madhuradeen Mohamed, a 46-year-old man residing in Hartlepool, was convicted and subsequently sentenced to prison for committing multiple sexual offenses against women in the area.Mohamed, who is an illegal immigrant, made a highly inappropriate and offensive remark during a gathering involving cannabis smoking at a residence in Hartlepool, claiming that he believed all white girls are promiscuous.
This remark was made in the presence of a group of people, highlighting his disrespectful attitude and the context of the incident.
Following this, Mohamed was tried at Teesside Crown Court, where a jury found him guilty of three separate sexual assault charges.
The first incident involved a young woman who was walking home alone in Hartlepool.
A friend of this victim testified in court, describing how Mohamed approached them and suggested they go to a house in Hartlepool to smoke cannabis.
When they arrived, they encountered two men already present.
During their conversation, one of the men expressed the belief that white girls are always willing to engage in sexual activity.
Mohamed then sat next to the first victim and inappropriately placed his arm around her lower back.
The victim became visibly upset and got up to leave.
Mohamed's inappropriate behavior continued when he sat beside her again and placed his hand near her private parts, prompting her to leave the scene with her friend.
In a separate incident, a teenage girl testified that she was walking home from college when Mohamed approached her.
She described how he started talking to her and became increasingly creepy, asking if he could hug her.
She explained that she tried to be polite but found his hug to be excessively tight and prolonged.
Mohamed then kissed her twice on the side of her face.
The girl also told the court that she informed him of her age and mentioned that her father would not approve of her being touched by a stranger, indicating her discomfort and the inappropriate nature of his actions.
Mohamed, who was residing on St Oswald’s Street in Hartlepool at the time, denied four charges of sexual assault.
Despite his denial, the jury convicted him of three of these charges.
It was also revealed during the trial that Mohamed has previous convictions related to sexual assault and harassment, which underscores a pattern of concerning behavior.
In mitigation, Mohamed’s defense lawyer, Ian Mullarkey, argued that Mohamed had come to the United Kingdom and was granted leave to remain.
However, this leave was revoked following his prior convictions, although he continued to reside in the country.
The lawyer also highlighted that Mohamed has a wife and children living in the UK, which was considered during sentencing.
Judge Peter Armstrong sentenced Mohamed to 18 months in prison, reflecting the seriousness of his offenses and the need for justice for the victims involved in these disturbing incidents in Hartlepool.
