Watford Domestic Abuser
A 34-year-old Watford roofer named Mac Todd has been sentenced for assaulting his partner with a chair leg during a drunken argument. The incident took place in February 2019. Todd pleaded guilty to causing actual bodily harm just before his trial at St Albans Crown Court. During the court hearing, the prosecution, represented by Douglas Page, accepted Todd's claim of acting in self-defense, asserting that the victim approached him aggressively. Todd from Beechwood Rise was ordered to complete 100 hours of unpaid work, pay £1500 in costs, and was subject to a 24-month community order, which includes attending a Building Better Relationships program. The judge, Stephen Warner, emphasized that domestic violence is unacceptable. The court was informed that Todd and his partner had been together for three years before the assault and had since split, with no further issues. Todd is also making maintenance payments for his child.
